Oh dear .
The most watched sport in this country is RL
That comment is nothing more than wishful thinking
It might be the most watched in your lounge room, but Australia wide, AFL with it’s long telecasts, even the post and pre game spots out rate your precious RL

Re: 2018 NRL Grand Final Tickets on Sale

Are they selling them, or giving them away? The rl people have been in habit of giving away seats (in large blocks) to try and fill their unsold finals games in the last days leading up to the game. now it appears they’ve changed tactics and they’re giving them away much earlier... Just watch the eb...

I can't find any sport where fumbling a ball continiously is seen as a skill
I'll keep looking
Try looking at a game of rugby league, you’ll see plenty of fumbling going on. In fact far for than any other code of football

Re: Where are the A-League fans?

Perhaps the A league people could talk to the rugby league people and put on a double header. That way they may have some chance of half filling one of their (small) stadiums. Throw in free, or 2 for one tickets, that might help ?

Re: Exactly why are we spending $2 billion on new stadiums in Sydney?

Is there any strength in the rumour, that a proportion of this 2 billion bucks is going towards artists, who are going to paint faces and spectators on the seats.
So the stadium wil appear "full" even when no one turns up to watch an NRL game

The ratings and numbers will improve.
FFA will go to the NRL and ask for lessons on how to fudge the figures

Re: 50,000 more people will attend Rugby League grand finals than AFL.

More people at RL finals than AFl - BS There are already more than 150,000 in and around the MCG , but the G will can only accommodate about 105,000,. The grounds and parking areas are chocas, the Punt Rd oval, 500 meters away, will be full, all watching on the big screens, and then there's the pubs...

Re: The NRL offloading GF tickets in an attempt to fill the stadium

With nobody paying for tickets, can the NRL afford to put the game on?
Can they pay for hire of the stadium, ground staff, security, catering?
No money for operational costs during the season, knocked back for a loan. Their expansion war-chest monies squandered, this is very embarassing for the code

Re: 2017 - Australian Football TV Ratings - AFL, AFL Womens etc (Rolling updates in OP)

Cowboys rate very well on FTA as well in Brisbane and throughout QLD but are rarely shown in FTA for example if the game on Saturday Roosters v Cowboys was exclusive to FOX imagen if this game was on FOX in rest of Australia but beamed into QLD ON FTA would increase x 3 (I am hoping NRL follow suit...
